All you AFR people, where did you buy them at? Am I still looking at a 4 week wait? I bought my Trick Flows with the .550 springs, an din order to get .600 lift springs in there I would have to cut the guides, so I figured why not ust get the AFR\'s.

Most likely you will have to wait. I paid over $1600 for mine. Its well worth the wait and $$!!! Just remember if you run any dome on your piston you have to get the 76cc head and have them milled. If you just have flat-tops the 68cc and 76cc will work http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

If you dont want to wait, some people sell them on Ebay and have them in stock, but youll pay more

I ordered mine through JD\'s Performance. $1252. I prepaid on November 15, 2004 and they just showed up last week, March 30, 2005, and they were shipped directly from AFR. Thats about a 19 week wait. The guy told me when I ordered that AFR was about 8 weeks behind. He said they were going to be taking a week off for Thanksgiving and then they were going to shut down for two weeks at Christmas. Ordinarily that would put them 11 weeks behind but I guess they\'re not an ordinary company. I have no problem with JD\'s. It wasn\'t they\'re fault AFR took so long and it didn\'t really matter since I couldn\'t drive the truck in the snow anyways. But, if someone told me now, that they could get AFR heads for a Chevy small block in 4-6 weeks, they\'d have a hard time convincing me.

There\'s a guy here that goes by Foxdude311 who is a dealer and can get them at a pretty good discounted rate. I\'m not sure if they would be cheaper than JD\'s but you may want to PM him and find out. I was talking to him a while back about getting a set for a nice cut

Well for straight out of the box performance I really have not seen any beat the kind of #\'s that AFR\'s can produce. AFR has some pretty advanced CNC work and research to make their heads flow like crazy. Dart and Brodix are great heads though, the ones you see guys making huge numbers with are probably 18 degree heads as opposed to the 23\'s. I think with some super quality porting they could match AFR\'s too, ive seen some great work done by speed shops but the kind of $$ that goes into that doesn\'t make them any cheaper.

check out the flow data comparing these things out of the box

Hee-Hawing? I promise you I have never done that in my life! lol http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Look at the out of the box flow numbers, AFR is easily the winner. But you just cant look at intake at peak flow, where they really shine is at low to mid lift and exhaust flow. The only head Ive seen from Brodix thats keeps up is their $2300 CNC Track 1(I\'ll take the $1300 AFRs).

Jegs now carries AFR\'s. Im not sure if they stock them, but they now carry them.

I ordered my AFR\'s direct from AFR. I think it was around $1300 for the heads plus angle mill for 64cc. This was over two years ago, though.

Oh yeah, AFR will have to cut the spring pockets for .600 lift springs too. They come with up to .550 lift, but you can order them with higher lift springs.

I had to have mine cut when I switched to my solid roller.

Yeah, they\'re expanding out now which is nice. Unfortunately Jegs wants $2k a pop for them which isn\'t a deal at all. Kinda weird though, they\'re selling the big block AFR\'s for $1400... i guess they know where the money\'s at

AFR\'s come in 68cc and 72cc for street heads and 76cc for the bigger race heads.

That is the problem I am having now. I need high lift springs for my roller cam, and figured I would just switch heads. I have Trick Flow G2\'s, and their flow numbers are pretty close on the intake and exhaust, so I may just invest in a rev kit for my heads.
