Has anybody ever removed the front two rubber bushings that the cab rest on---frame? Think i got one broken loose in the cab. Not sure but I think the nut that the bolt goes into is fixed to the cab. Any ideas? thanks guys.

I did a body off resortation on my truck. The nut is welded to the cab. It is common for them to break loose. Some people drill through the floor. I cut the bolt and bushing and rewelded the nut. I was replacing the mounts anyway.

Thanks, Indiana--here\'s the issue--I am not taking the cab off, just replacing the rubber bushings. Would i be best to drill a hole in floor?

Some people on this site say yes. If you are good enough to drill over it, it should work. I decided to cut it off instead. I could see it and it was easy to get to. You need to lift the cab high enough to replace them.

I can\'t help much, except to say I changed all 4 cab mount bushings last summer, the bottom retainer washers rotted clean off on two out of 4, a third was nasty. I had one of the \"nuts\" inside come loose, but oddly enough, it must have been a drilled & tapped \"strap\", because it would flop around about a 1/8 turn in either direction, then hold. Mine is an \'82.

........... I\'ve heard some of the guys say that its not unusual for the hole on the body side of the mount can rot through, and you\'ve gotta make a new \"washer\" for it.

........... OK, just found my post for this problem, maybe you can get some more info from this, maybe not.
