well racing season just started i had a 7.5 with an auburn limited slip gear, it held up all last year and about 5 passes this year with a 1.64 60 ft time. i got a mini spool and broke it after 4 passes. now im gettin a 9\" with 4.11 gears and a full spool direct boltin for around 800 bucks.
I just wanted to keep everyone posted on how my season started off so bad. but hopefully it will get better

Well now you get a real rear! I\'m curious as to what happened when it broke.. did it just sit there, did it spin? What part broke, spool, axles?
800 bucks is a killer deal for that setup.. did you just happen to find a good deal or is there a shop thats building them for that?

my mini spool twisted and bent the metal on the mini spool (if i can get a pic later i will)
my auburn gear went to 1 wheel peel and now somethings clankin around really bad in there but i havent got i took apart yet so im not sure what it is. when i get it apart i will let you know.
Im gettin the 9\" from a rearend shop called Maranatha about 30 miles south of me, by what he said he\'s always doin S-10 rearends.

Sorry to hear the rearend broke. By the look of your 60 foot time, you were hooking pretty good! Were you using slicks?
Peace

yeah im using 10\" slicks
I have a feeling my stock rear is gonna blow soon. Stretched the Ubolts on the rear end at the track over the weekend and also tweeked the steering somehow..wheel is off center. Whats your setup as far as traction goes my best 60ft is only a 1.66 on 10.5s. Heres a link to a pic this pastweekend..its carrying the left tire a few inches, hard to tell in pic, cant wait till the right one follows!

I put my 9 inch in this year and its a good feeling not worrying about breaking it. Cant wait to launch off the trans break

They let you run without a helmet or does it not show up in the pic? Anyway I still like the silver and black with the luggage rack http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

The \"9 in\" is a great deal but will take more of your tq. to get the power to the ground-- The dyno shows about a fifteen hp loss on a 500 rwhp camero after a \"9 in\" was installed. A cut down 8.5 is almost as efficent as your 7.625 and will take all you can put at it.

its not showing up in pic. I catch more crap about that luggage rack and all i ever say is i might decide to go camping one weekend and tie all my stuff to it, cause it is street legal and on pump gas. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif Besides it really throws people off.
