I am constantly burning up starters. I have a replaced the flexplate 2 times, the starter about 9(no kidding) and done everthing i know how. All i have come up with is that maybe its the headers cooking it from the inside out?!?! Does anyone else have problems with their starter? I am taking the headers to get JetHot coated this week and i recently purchased a starter heat wrap from Jegs, is this gonna fix the problem?

Heat kills starters. Plain and simple.

I am aware of that.lol But what i want to know is how many people on here have had these same problems.
i\'m running the same starter for over two years now, it\'s a mini starter, no problems at all. On second engine block, same starter.
No never had starter problem in two years, try a quality starter or heat shield or heat wrap.

I run full length headers and a Heat wrap on a high torque FULL size Summit starter. No problems over 3 years.

I could\'nt get a fullsize Gm starter in there. I\'ve got one of those starter wraps coming from Jegs that will be here Thurs. and im taking the headers to get coated tomarrow. I have bought a CSI high torque mini, and a bunch of high torque mini\'s that are A/C Delco so i know its not the brand. I think thats they\'re just gettin too hot and frying from the inside out. Hot the new mods will fix the problem!
