Is this a good deal

Last night I was offered a 1997 2-door s10 blazer, 4x4 with 5 speed for $3000 CDN from a dealer.



He took it as a trade in on somebody who really wanted a dakota. It has 170,000 km.



Is this a good deal, it sure seems like it.

I paid about $6,000 for my daily driver 2 years ago. 96 blazer 4x4, 2 door auto. It had 76k miles on it. I think $2400 is a pretty good price.

I bought a 97 4x4 4 door, automatic, leather, power everything for $1500. It has 170,000 on it though, so I\'d say it\'s a deal, if it it what you want.

Usually an SUV with a standard shift will sell way cheaper than an automatic. I guess it\'s cause most \"Soccer Moms\" don\'t know how to shift. The same is true with the 2 doors. We like em, but the same \"Moms\" don\'t. Another factor to start considering is that they don\'t make S-10\'s anymore. So you are talking about a discontinued model. At 8+ years old, you might want to give it a good look for rust. It would have to be in real good shape to be a \"deal\". IMHO, anyway.

at 2400 bucks just get it. if the thing turns out to be a piece put an ad in the paper and get your money back and then some.
