Just weighed the truck. . . .and I was surprised http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif to see the weight being 3240lbs. w/o me inside and my 15 gallon fuel cell half full. Just so you know I have aluminum heads, removed fenderwells, aluminum valve covers, aluminum radiator, aluminum intake, aluminum fuel cell, no power steering, no a/c or heater, aluminum weld drag lites, etc.
However I do have:
small block chevy 350, a th400 transmission, a ford 9\", 4-point roll cage, fiberglass bed cover, 15-gallon fuel cell, a kenwood amp. w/ two 8\" subs, and 275/60/15 mickey thompson et\'s
I thought I had a better power to weight ratio right now it\'s 300rwhp/3440lbs. (with me in the truck)!
Oh well. . . . that\'s why we have nitrous http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
BTW- it\'s a 95 GMC Sonoma short bed

Well I was going to say holy cow then I realized that you had the TH400, 9 inch, etc. Those pieces you listed add up pretty quick. You are weighing in about 500lbs heavier than me. I have similar setup except lighter tranny/rear and none of that extra stuff.

Not too bad...little hefty for a standard cab. The 9\" and T400 do add up though like Kevin said. Same with the bed cover and roll bar.
Im hoping to get my 94 to 3000 or less. Atleast under 3200 with me in it.
Hopefully all the aluminum and aftermarket stuff Im running will ditch me some weight. Im doing some unnoticeable weight reduction here and there, and I believe the stepside bed I have weighs less than a fleetside does.
BTW, you have any track times with it yet? Im interested specifically in trap speeds.

Boy, reading that I was suprised at how much the truck weighed, but..............
However I do have:
small block chevy 350, a th400 transmission, a ford 9\", 4-point roll cage, fiberglass bed cover, 15-gallon fuel cell, a kenwood amp. w/ two 8\" subs, and 275/60/15 mickey thompson et\'s
Then I read all of that, and that explained a lot. My truck is only slightly lighter than that, maybe about that weight now. RC/SB, no a/c, w/ ps, vinyl bed cover, amp and 1 10\" sub, and some other stuff. Last time I weighed it at the track I had an extra set of tires in the bed and some tools also. I need to reweigh it now.

Mine weighs 2850 without me. Powerglide, small block (iron heads), no inner fenders, 9\", 8 point cage, interior gutted, still has door panels and windows though.

Mine (\'82 short bed) weighs exactly the same, and same as yours,EXCEPT no cage, TH350, Mopar 8-3/4\" rear, and, mucho heavy steel wheels. Mine always seemed to be heavier than it should..... BTW, I\'m about 160 lbs myself.... heading toward 165.... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

My \'90 Blazer weighed 2950 with a SBC and aluminum heads with Th350/Currie 9\". It only had the front seats and no carpet at the time though. Other than that I did no weight reduction at all. It probably weighs around 3500-3600 now with full interior and teh iron headed BBC.

Keep in mind that the 2nd gen trucks weigh a bit more than the 1st gens. My loaded \'98 4.3 Sonoma weighed about 3500 while my \'85 with the iron head 350 is 2950. Probably a good thing, too, since I\'m about 210.
