For all who get poor fuel mileage its time to grin and bear it. Because Pres. Bush said it tonight! No lower gas prices! HE didn\'t exactly say it that way but the prices won\'t come down this summer.
I listed this here in Dr. Phil \'cause he is the only one that doesn\'t care. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
Maybe in his speech he should have raised minium wage so people could afford the fuel to get to work http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cry.gif
Figured I strike a chord or two! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/music341.gif

If you were to raise the minimun wage all that would do is raise the gas prices more. Because that would raise the cost of living. Gas company workers would get paid more. Power Company workers paid more. And we would be back where we started.
Maybe in 5 years or so when we start getting anwr drilled up and maybe some Nuclear Power Plants built the prices will go down. Or be better depending on the rate of inflation.

Yeah, we\'ve got to become energy independent.
.............. I said this once before. My plan:
We need to buy Utah http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Move Salt Lake City to Nevada, and fill Utah with Nuke Plants, & bury the waste right there.
Works for me, but I don\'t live in Utah..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

no offense but minimum wage has got to change! in Wisconsin it\'s $5.15 and has been for more than five years. five years ago, gas hovered around $1.06, now it\'s $2.34. it\'s time for a major bump. i\'m going to have to bust my butt full time this summer if i want a v8 by fall, then i\'ll be picking the ground for spare change to pay for gas. i want my income to keep up with inflation. i think my bank account does better.

The problem with minimun wage is all it does is accelerate inflation.
Because when someone on the bottom of the employee food chain who dropped out of school and works a non skilled factory job suddenly gets a pay raise. A person who finished highschool working a job you have to have some skill at is not going to want to get paid the same. And it will keep going up and spreading. And if you live in a strong Union town. The last thing you want is a minimun wage hike because Teamsters and the UAW will think that means it is time to raise a persons salary from $35 an hour to $45 an hour. Or whatever it is anymore. Making the cost of vehicles go up. And that will transfer to the trucks hauling the fuel. So to compensate the higher cost of the truck they will raise the cost of transporting the fuel. And then the gas station will raise the cost of the fuel. And now the individual working for another company is going to want more pay to pay for the gas. Making their product price go up. Then the next thing you know is your back where you started. Yellling about raising mininmun wage to $10 and thus repeating the cycle until rapture.
If you leave Capitalism to it\'s purest form. As in let the government stay out of businesses. It will work it\'s self out. And you\'ll see gas prices drop. That and if we get those enviromentalist off our back. They start paying for my gas. I\'ll stop any drilling or nuclear power plants that are being built

From www.fueleconomy.gov - gas price breakdown: 22% taxes, 11% distribution & marketing, 21% refining, 46% crude oil. You notice in thier breakdown no one is making money on gasoline? why don\'t they list the percentage that is profit?

Following Mike\'s lead..... The only problem with alcohol being produced as a major source of fuel, is that, sooner or later, you KNOW that they\'ll start using HOPS to produce the alcohol, then you know what comes next...... What?? Where did you get that from. Minimum wage is $7.35 here in Washington. They say cost of living is supposed to offset this for our area, but i still think that $5.xx/hr you guys are getting is crap.

as a uaw employee id like to make 35xx /hr.lol. any way, starting at min wage should make you want to do better for your self, and your family.
i remember whan i made 5xx per hour w/ 2 kids 8 mo and 2 and was eating ramen noodles. i learned how to budget ,and how to rob Peter to pay paul, when it came time to pay bills.it taught me alot.now i live like i make 8 p/hour ,dont have 600 mo car pmt, and all that shit. i live dat to day, week to week just like most working stiffs. i just get to do a little more w/ what the uaw has gotten for me....
most of the people i work with have $200000 houses. also have40, and 50 g cars, and live like thier in poverty. the more money u make, the more bills u make for yourself. ive read that its that way only ,mostly in america. were fat. we have to keep up w/ the jones\' live modest, and you can survive on less than\"UAW SIZED WAGES\"
also keep in mind the auto industry is either \" feast or famine\" we are threatened with lay offs daily. the morale in most plants suck. the term uaw and union, means to most people that im making more money than i deserve for the job i do. my uaw job caused a divorce, cause thhours away from home, when you work 6 days a week,11-12 hours a day, on nights you dont see or do much on your 1 day off................ its not all peaaches and creme
sorry for the rant...... mattio

The average american uses 25 barrels of oil each year-- in india and China-- they use about 2 barrells of oil per person---- supply and demand--- and of course the wall street traders are makin a killin on futures.

Oil companies are making record profits. As a guy that almost makes UAW wages (30\hr) I am still frustrated. I drive a company vehicle with gas card (HVAC tech) and it has gotten so bad our company has put GPS on the vans and monitors our speed and idle time. Now i can't even sit in the truck and do my paperwork with the A\C on! I hate it, but overall, gas is priced historically like it should be. I hate to say that, but it is reality. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

yep, just hit $3.499 a gallon here.
What pisses me off the most is the fact that gas prices jump on days that the tankers didn't arrive.
So if you sell 1000 gallons a week, and the tanker truck only comes once a week, then the price should remain the same as paid for that truck per gallon. When the truck comes back, then if it increases, up the price.
Or am I completely wrong on thinking that way?

Well guys, I don't think it's going to get better any time soon, here in Lake Worth Florida I paid $3.69.9 yesterday for regular at a Shell station, I predict at the present rate that prices are going up (almost every day) we should be at $4.00 a gallon of regular in a couple weeks or a month... With the credit card limits at $50.00 I couldn't even fill my 20 gallon tank in my S10 Blazer, I only got about 13 gallons and would have to go back the next day with the card or pay some other way to fill the tank... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif High test and diesel are approaching the $5 mark here now, they were way past $4 dollars a gallon last month... On top of that here in L.W. Florida we are now forced to use E10 Ethanol so we now will get less gas mileage while paying more at the pump, I was worried I would have to change engine tuning or something but my V8S10 seams to run OK on it, just runs out a little quicker... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

seriously, who was the idiot that stuck ethanol in all our fuel??? i thought some was wrong with my car cuz my 3.1 grand am gets 20mpg on my daily drive! i hardly ever touch 300mi. before filling up anymore.
Reg. was $3.659 today. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif i didn't look at diesel, but it hopped to $4.249 yesterday. i would hate to be a trucker right now. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
