I just put a 3.4 out of a 1995 camaro in my pickup and my friend who has a Chevy 6.5 deisel w/chip, exhaust, turbo, and k&n air filter was saying he could still whip me, so we went out on the highway and lined em\' up. the first race i took off spinning but still pulled a half car length on him off the line then he started to pull on me, then we were about even and his governer kicked in at 99 and i blew him away. then we did a second race from about a 20 mph roll and i smoked him. i took about a car length on him off the start and kept pulling away. all in all it was a fun time and i was very happy with my engine.

I only pray that your truck didn\'t originally come with the 4.3. And no offense meant ... but why did you go to the trouble of swapping a 3.4 into your truck? I mean, hey to each his own but IMO it\'s not that much of an upgrade, you could have even just gone with a 4.3 swap. I was just curious what your intentions and reasoning was. I\'m guessing it was either because of ease of swap or you got a good deal on the engine.

Im guessing he had a 2.8. The 3.4L camaro motor is almost a direct bolt in, and will outperform a 2.8 anyday.
my bird has the 3.4 in it, not the worst engine i ever sat behind, but my S10 with the 350 will kick it\'s ass.

a 3.4 is a 2.8 with just a longer stroke

No i didn\'t have the 4.3 before, i had the 2.8, and i put in the 3.4 because of the ease of changing it. i had blown up my 2.8 and my dad wouldn\'t let me put in a 350, i tried to talk him into it but he said i\'d kill myself, which prolly has some truth in it.
