I\'m just pulled out a 2.8 auto from a 82 S-15 and was wondering what V-8 engine/trans from what year that would be the most painless and least cosly? thanks

Hey, that\'s what I\'ve got, \'82 S-15. As to which engine & trans, the TH350 is probably the easiest trans, and the engines are all pretty much the same if we\'re talking carburated engines. If you\'re gonna use stock iron exhaust manifolds, only certain manifolds work, and the engine needs to have the dipstick on the proper side so as not to interfere with the proper manifold.
............. Probably the FIRST think you should do is buy the JTR book for sale here on this site. It gives a TON of info regarding exactly what you\'re asking. Second thing, search this site for discussions on what you\'re looking for. Here\'s a link to the book. Good Luck!
