the vss wires go to the DRAC attached to the back of the computer then wires go from there to other places, like the dash for instance).
Alt wires, Pink gos to the ign/gauge fuse, and the brown goes to the dash.

alternator. the pink wire goes to the ign/gauges fuse.
the brown wire goes to the amp guage in your dash
vss. the two wire (likely twisted together) go to the drac, if you do not have it you\'ll need it, then you\'ll likely need to get it or at least something that can convert the vss signal into the same form as the dash signal. if you have a drac all you need hooked up to it is the vss wires (the twisted pair), the ground, the power (ignition/gauge fuse), and the wire that goes to the speedometer.

whats the drac look like? does it run through the computer or is it a seperate part? because i took the computer out and all the wiring, but i did not cut the vss wires. where would the drac be located?

if your computer was under your glove box it should have been attached to the back. other wise i am not sure where. THe condidtioning may have been done through a computer. If that is the case, you\'ll need to get a module of some sort to do the same thing., you can always get a drac out of an older truck \'90 or something. even full sized trucks had them. Just hook up the power, ground, vss wires, and speedo wire, and your ready to roll. If you change the size of your tires and/or gears you will also be able to correct the reading aswell.
Is is a white plastic case with a circuit board inside.

Check out this link. It is for DRAC dianostics, but it shows you a DRAC and some of the pins. At least th ones you need anyway.

This link is for recalibrating the drac for gear and/or tire changes.
You can google it using \"speed sensor buffer drac\" and other similar combinations.

do you still need it with aftermarket guages?

Yes, the other option would be to have the tail shaft changed out to an earlier model with a speedometer cable.

it is really easy to modify if you have the time. it took me about 2 hours infront of the tv, now all i have to do is flip switches if I change my tires or gears.
I have changed both my gears and and tires since I added the switch to the DRAC.
