View Full Version : other v8 conversions
I\'ve been wanting to do another v8 swap into something other then an s10. Any of you guys ever do anything wild? I was thinking about a fiero, they\'re pretty rare as it is let alone a v8 one. I also was thinking about a second generation supra

There are kits to drop v8\'s in fieros and supras...a guy in town here has a 2nd gen fiero...its fast but he keeps going thru trannys and clutches from the power....they dont hold very well. Very cool idea and differant.

there is a guy at a local tire shop here that i was talking to while i was getting new tires on my fullsize, anyways he told me that he used-to own a v8-fiero. he said that this conversion required an aluminium block for it($$$). he said that it ran ungoddly rast, but the build-up cost was unreal! the cost of the aluminium block alone was $5000-7000. i don\'t know if this is true, just was letting you know in case.

Nah - my cousin helped a guy build one with a regular old 350 in it. It\'s a fairly mild motor - 275-300 hp, but it\'ll get sideways in 3rd gear! It\'s pretty crazy.

There use to be a comany that made kits for a small block ford into a samuri. The fiero has had small blocks,northstar,3800 S/C and one company in Kansas City was looking into a fiero as well. There is a guy here in minnesota with a small block yugo, REALLY It is scarey fast and kinda cool too. How about old school 65-69 midengine corvair? Handles like a porche and is fast as well.

Chevette! A frind and I were building a v8 vette! The motor and trans got in and we never finished it. The v8 monza nightmare wouldn\'t allow us to get back to it.

The bad part...If you dont strengthen the chassis of a chevette, or a yugo, or vega etc.. they will twist in no time.Nothing worse, or funnier than watching a modified tin can drive sideways when your behind him.bETTER YET, WATCH THEM TRY TO SHUT THE DOOR..doh!! The v8 s10 conversion is way cool because of the beefy frame... Another 100 points for the v8 s10!!! yeaaaaaaaaay!
