had my truck dynoed.it said 348 horsepower. the jimmy runs 7.20\'s at 94.90 mph, guess that damn 5000 stahl convertor kills me on the dyno , but helps me at the track. oh well its nice being at the track next to all the trailer queens and people saying WHATS THAT RUN AND YOU DROVE IT HERE! heard the convertor can kill as much as 160 ponies on the dyno.

Thats why dyno numbers dont impress me. The strip is my only dyno. It doesnt lie, it cant be ajusted to read higher or lower. Its simply a measure of the vehicle/drivers combined ability.

Thats 10,000 HP if you cant use it anyway?

Dynos are a good tool for tuning though http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

348 whp is not bad at all. Through an auto that\'s around 450 flywheel and should be good for low 11s in the 1/4.

Yeah, I was thinking like Andy... 348HP at the wheels is pretty stout. Run those #s thru an on-line dyno and see what 1/8 or 1/4 mile times it develops...........

just saying because the torque convertor is a 5000 stahl it is not effichant.the guys at the dyno say a manual tranny looses 20-35 hp and a automatic looses 70-160 hp the higher the stahl the more lost.but the higher stahl multiples more torque at the track so i\'m all for the track (THE REAL DYNO)

Yeah dont get stuck on dyno numbers....an inefficiant torque converter(high stall) will throw off the dyno, but you also have to remember it multiplies torque by up 2 1/2 times, and you dont get that with a stick at all.
