Yes, CalTracs work great.......
BUT, getting a truck to hook can be tricky business.......
Looks like anyone can get pretty BIG power to hook up with "stock" suspension using Slide-a-Links, CalTracs, or even full length slappers. It's the tweaking that's the key.
Heck, I was running 1.70s with NO traction bars, just a pinion snubber.
Again, tweaking your setup is very important.

Heres my set up as of now. Keep in mind as i tell you these things i'm a GM tech!lol The engine is about 360 cubes, forged pistons, forged crank, eagle rods, dart heads, vic jr, 850 demon, small shot of gas all through a turbo 350, with a 3800 stall, full manual reverse patern transbrake valve body. Now the funny, i want to keep the 7.5(for now) I have decent axels, posi carrier and ring/pinion gears (see GMtech). All i want is 7.0's on motor. After that and my "small" shot of gas, its all gravy! Just needed all ya'lls imput on the rear. Thanks for all the help so far and all the compliments on the truck.

I noticed alot of ya'lls trucks with the slide-a-links sit low. Surely ya'll havent put lowering blocks in them with the links?

I'm no GM Tech but I am a GM nut.. I refuse to use ford parts on my chevy..LOL I am running a 8.6 10 bolt from a 2004 Blazer ZR1. Yeah I had to get it cut down and have Moser axles. I am switching to a posi unit this week, I have a limited slip unit in it now that feels realy weird.
I put a 4.56 8.5 Richmond Gear in it as well. The other bonus is it has disc brakes.
As for the slide-a-links? I have slapper bars and currently have a few issues there but I think stiffer shocks will make everything come together.
Does anyone have a picture of the modded lakewood traction bars? I would like to try a set of these. Or better yet anyone got a set for sell? Not just stock ones but the modded ones?

Ray how many turns are you running on the Slide-a-links? I went to 5 on the driver and 5.5 on the pass side last week and she seemed to slip a ton. It was also about 90 degreees out. The same set up in 50 degree weather had me at 1.56 60 ft times.
