Yes, the stock pan will work just fine. Is the truck gonna street strip, all Drag or what. If it were all drag I would go with the extra oil capacity. More important than the pan get a good pump!

Im using a 6" rod and a stock pan with no modification. One engine we put 6"Olds rods and we had to grind the crap outa the block, gasket and beat the oil pan.Its not the length of the rod,its the diameter of the big end.My rods from K-1 Technologies(6" billet) only required you grind the block about the size of a pencil.Saved alota time.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. If you want a good fairly inexspensive pump I would go with a Melling 55A. Should be able to get it at most any parts store. Its a stock pump for a Z28.
Then in the more expensive pumps the 2 most common around here are a Moroso 22101 and a Melling 10550, or 10552. Any of them are good pumps in my opinion.

Are all the posts about crank/pan clearance? We're puttinh a 1989 350 TBI from a 3/4 ton van into a 1991 S10 2wd. And we're having pan to front cross member clearance issues. Any ideas?
