Vortec 350 Swap into 2000 GMC Sonoma highrider (ZR2)

Stats-
2000 GMC Sonoma 4wd ZR2 (Same as S10) Extended cab. SLS
currently with the vortec 4.3L
Automatic Transmission (4l60E)

What I have ready for the swap-
-Freshly rebuilt 5.7 vortec
-Electric fans
-electric water pump
-relocation motor mounts
-computer from the 350 vortec
-wiring harness from the 350 vortec. add the two injectors and oxygen sensor...

What I know that I still need to purchase-
-Custom oil pan
-Headers (Sanders 4x4..?..?..)
-oil cooler/ oil filter delete bracket


Questions-

Has anyone on this site ever done this swap into this particular vehicle? Is there anything else I might need?

Because it is a "zr2" suspension does this mean that it has a body lift and the regular 4X4 header this site sells will or will not fit?.?..

What kind of headers did you go with? Are their special headers for the ZR2? I was told the Sanders Headers work great for this 4WD swap because of the steering column issue

I have done quite a bit of research on the internet with other forums and this one; in order to complete this swap,(i think). I'm just trying to get some more input. If you have any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Well as you already know the ZR2 is a suspension package. Unless someone put in a body lift it shouldn't have one. Its easy enough to tell though, just look at your mounts. If thier is blocks in between them then someone had installed a body lift. It might be easier to look at the bed since the blocks wuld go between the bed an the body.
As for the headers, I have a set from advance adapters. I aslo had the shck towers moved to fit the old headers that I had. I have a bunch of pics in my gallery.

hello i have a 98 gmc highrider that the 4.3 has died and am having problems locating a new 4.3 so im thinking of doing a v8 swap to the 96-99 vortec.i done some v8 swaps in the past including a 91 s-10 short box reg.cab 4x4 with a 4 speed was a daily driver for almost 10 years before i sold it .i put a 91 305 crossfire injected out of 92 trans am.was a blast to drive locked in with the stick just want better drivability for the high rider the 4.3 i think is way under powered.im compiling a list of parts and was hoping some one may have done this swap and may have some helpful advice on what is neede to do this conversion.any and all help is appreciated .
